MUA lipstick shade 4 - review

I couldn't resist another pink lipstick and for £1 I couldn't really go wrong.

The packaging of is the same as all the MUA products, glossy black.
Its nothing special but it does the job.
I also noticed from reading another person's blog (or I would never have found this out) that in the lid is actually a small sample of the actual lipstick to show what colour it is.

Shade 4 in the stick is very bright barbie pink but applies a subtle glossy pink.

The formulation of shade 4 is pretty nice actually, it glides on really easily.
It hasn't got much pigmentation but I know this isn't the case for all there lipsticks.
It doesn't stay on the lips for very long but for 1 quid it's defiantly worth it.

Latest obsession- glitter nails

Before Christmas I did a post that consisted of Barry M bright purple and Rimmel Disco Ball. I mentioned that it would look fab with any colour. And , well, here's the proof!

Im so obsessed with glitter nails.

What are you loving to wear on your nails?

Smashbox Softbox

Now, for everyone who has been reading my blog I'm pretty sure has guessed I'm obsessed with eye shadows. I really don't have enough eyes to wear all the eye shadows. I need to stop buying them!

I brought this before Christmas and I didn't show it to much love. The thing is, I don't know why?

The eye shadows themselves are so smooth. They are also really pigmented! I'm really impressed by the quality of them. However, I'm not a fan of the colour selection.  Some of them are really pretty, others are pretty just don't suit me at all!

In this palette there are 2 completely matt colours which is really good as it makes it more day time suitable. However the matt's don't really do it for me, I sometimes use Vanilla as a highlight but its nothing special. My 2 favourite eye shadows in this is Fizz and Minx. Fizz is just a really good lid colour, again its nothing special but its really pretty. Minx reminds me a little of Satin Taupe, think of Satin Taupe with a bit more purpley silver in and you've got Minx (or just look at the swatch... might be easier.) One colour I really dislike from this is Ignite, its a very copper colour and it just looks awful on me, I have worn it out and I just didn't like it.

No Flash

You can get it on Debenhams for £33.
I really like the quality of the eye shadows but I feel that every colour in this palette wouldn't suit just one person. Like how Ignite doesn't suit me, Pebble might not suit someone with a darker skin colour. Its a really handy palette to have for travelling and the packaging is really sturdy and pretty.

Let me know if you've tried any other Smashbox products? I haven't really tried very much from it.

Lipstick of the day - Maybelline Pink Punch

This lipsticks defiantly different from my usual nude. Its very bright but I've actually been loving it recently.  I got it in the summer so I don't know if its still for sale but its really pretty. I wore it just out for dinner with some of my friends and it just made my outfit less casual which was really nice.

Hope you have had a good week. Let me know if you would like me to do 'lipstick of the day' not every day but when ever I wear it.

Neutral MAC eyeshadow palette

I love collecting eye shadows and this palette is my baby.

Night Manoeuvres (from a collection), Handwritten, Carbon

I feel that the pigmentation of MAC eye shadows can be amazing, however sometimes they can be EXTREMELY poor. I find this with Carbon especially, it is the worst black eye shadow ever. Also Night Manoeuvres (from a collection years ago) is the worst eye shadow EVER. The swatch is me rubbing my finger in it a lot! and it still doesn't show up.

My most used ones are probably the second line, I really like the shimmery colours for day to day usage.

I still have 2 places left in this palette, which neutrals would you recommend?

Blush collection

As I've mentioned before Blush isn't my favourite make up item however recently I've really started getting into it! I have I feel enough blush for me, especially as I don't wear it everyday. My favourite make of blush is MAC....or maybe NARS (if they weren't so expensive)

Melba is my new go to blush, it just looks so natural. Its an all time favourite for lots of people I feel. I didn't know if I could include Harmony as I don't think anyone would use it as a blush but it is technically a 'blush.' The first MAC blush I ever owned was Ladyblush. Its a cream blush and its just so pweetty. I'd say its an evening blush as its not the most natural colour.

This is the rest of my 'collection.' Its a mixture of brands from high end NARS and benefit to Natural collection and NYC. I love NARS torrid, its SO pigmented! and its just so beautiful. Natural collection Peach Melba used to be my favourite go to blush and I still love it but MAC Melba has taken over.

I really want to try more blushes, which ones would your recommend and have you tried any of these?

Back to Mac - Pervette

I love MAC lipstick's but they are just so expensive so I normally only get them with back to MAC.
This time I picked up a lipstick i haven't heard very much about but I think its really pretty. Its the perfect everyday pink.

This lipstick is a glaze and is very moisturising. Its a light pink with a lot of silver frosty glitter in it. I have been wearing it non stop. The staying power on this lipstick is pretty good actually, I found I didn't have to top up as much as I normally do with other MAC lipsticks.

Have any of you tried this lipstick?

Monday, 2 January 2012

Eyes are literally my favourite thing ever! Im so obsessed with buying eyeshadows. I'd call it an addiction. Obviously in here is the famous Naked Palette, everyone knows about it. A nother eye shadow palette that I love is the MUA heaven and earth palette, this is a cheaper great alternative to the Naked Palette. I have done a full review on this palette. I narrowed my MAC eye shadows down to 4 (it was hard) and my favourite 4 are 'all that glitters' 'mulch' 'satin taupe' and 'handwritten.' These are my most used eye shadows. I wouldn't say I have a favourite eye shadow primer, everyone I've used I've liked and its done the job, previous ones I've liked are NARS, Laura Mercier, Urban Decay but currently I'm using the Estee Lauder double wear. I wear gel eye liner almost every time I wear eye liner and my favourite one is Clinique Gel liner, although I have previously liked MAC - they are both fab. My most used pencil liner is MAC coffee, this is just great for a brown smokey eye. Favourite mascara has to be the YSL shocking. Its amazing, end off.

I had to remember while doing this that the year hasn't been cold the whole time, I had to think about what I wore in summer. The lipstick I lived in during summer is Jemma Kidd 04 Hibiscus, this looked so pretty with just very natural makeup and added a pop to colour. My other Jemma kidd lipstick that I wear probably at least 90% of the time I want to wear a nude is 01 Bridgetown. Its A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I'm a complete sucker for packaging but the Jemma Kidd packaging is to die for. Its just so pretty and I love clicking it open and closed - if you've seen them you'll know what I'm talking about, if not you'll think I've gone mental. Last lipstick is another nude, its the well known Beehive by no17. I love using this lipstick as its so moisturising but also its SO cheap, I always feel bad using a expensive product but this is like £4 or something and I am constantly applying it.

This is the Kerastase oil. I makes your hair so soft and silky but doesn't weight it down. I use this every time I was it just before I let it dry and once a week I use about 3 pumps and leave it in my hair before a shower and then wash it out as a conditioning treatment. Honestly my hair has never been in better condition.

I'm not really into perfumes, but one I wore nearly every day in summer is the DIESEL fuel for life. Now I can't promise your like this as some of my friends hate this with a passion (apparently it smells like a granny mixed with sugar.) But personally I love it. I don't really know what else to say... just go smell it!

This is the end of my 2011 beauty favourites. Would love to know what your H.G product has been this year?
